A Benign Temple Trinity from Bangkok

Buddhism still commands a heavy presence in the dazzle of modern day Bangkok. The city is home to some of the most well known Buddhist temples in Thailand. Check out some information on three of the most popular Buddhist temples in Thailand.

Wat Phra Kaew

Almost everybody who buys tickets for flights to Bangkok ends up paying a visit to ‘Temple of the Emerald Buddha’. Home to the iconic statue of the Emerald Buddha, this temple is probably the most celebrated of Thailand’s temples. The Wat Phra Kaew also has two libraries crammed with Buddhist manuscripts.

Wat Arun

Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn is yet another of the globally famous Buddhist temples in Thailand. The Wat Arun dates back to the time Ayutthaya and not Bangkok was the seat of power in Thailand. While booking cheap flights to Bangkok, this temple remains an inseparable part of the itinerary for many travellers. Wat Arun is best visited during the early morning hours. As you take a boat ride to the temple, you get to catch the spectacular sight of sun rays brilliantly playing upon the tile works of Wat Arun.

Wat Traimit

No travel to Bangkok can complete without a trip to the Wat Traimit Temple. This is the temple, where the Golden Buddha rests. This Golden Buddha is supposed to be the world’s largest Buddha to have been made from solid gold. The Buddha weighs about eleven thousand pounds and has a height of about 15 feet.
