Emirates to Add More Flights on Dubai-Colombo Route

Offering added tickets on flights running on Colombo-Dubai route, Emirates, the Dubai based carrier is launching three more flights per week from 30th June 2013. The rise in the number of flights highlights the increasing demand for air travel tickets to and from the Sri Lankan capital.

The full-service carrier will offer tickets for three more weekly services scheduled to run on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. It will increase the number of flights to four each day on those days, enhancing the total count to 31 flights per week.

The airline will ply Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and provide tickets for two class configuration. The additional services will contribute to extra tickets option for 126 Business and 1,158 Economy Class seats each way per week on the route.

Fliers booking tickets for Dubai-Colombo sector can draw advantages from airline’s unbeatable ice entertainment system with 1,400 channels, on-demand entertainment options like movies, TV programmes, games, audio books and music. In addition, they can also enjoy extra baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy and 40 kg in Business Class. The additional flights will bring more privileges for members of the Skywards frequent flyer programme.

Jet Airways to Offer Daily Services on Kochi-Kuwait Route

One of the largest carriers in India, Jet Airways is all set to introduce daily flights between southern Indian city of Kochi and Kuwait via Abu Dhabi from May 16, 2013, offering seamless connectivity, flexibility and added options to fliers seeking tickets for flights operating on the routes. 

The carrier is going to deploy high tech Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft. The operator hopes to provide the finest of in-flight services, first-rate in-flight entertainment and regional meals to fliers booking tickets for Premiere and Economy class.

Singapore Airlines Likely to Boost India Flights

Business and leisure vacationers who regularly seek air tickets for travelling between India and Singapore will be delighted to know of the strong possibility of rise in the number of flights operating between the two Asian destinations. Singapore Airlines and its subsidiaries are hoping to enhance the frequency of flights to Indian destinations. There will be more alternatives for those seeking tickets on India-Singapore route, once SIA amps up its services to India. Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai are three cities for where flights will be boosted by the carrier. All this will happen, once Singaporean government works out allotment of India seats.

As of now, SIA operates three flights from India’s capital Delhi and two each from Hyderabad and Chennai per week. The services are expected to be augmented and more number of seats will be available for travellers looking to buy tickets to Indian cities. However, there will be no increase in the number of flight services to Mumbai as the airline is “already utilising maximum permitted seats from the city.”

SIA together with its subsidiary SilkAir and low-cost affiliate Tiger Airways use more than 70 per cent of capacity between India and Singapore. Together, the three operators offer tickets for about 29,000 one-way weekly seats to India. In contrast, Indian carriers are providing air tickets for about 11,000 one-way weekly seats to Singapore.

SIA and SilkAir sell tickets for 98 weekly flights to 11 destinations in India. Tiger Airways, partially owned by SIA, offers tickets for 39 weekly flights to six destinations in India.

Singapore Airlines to Enhance Network in Indonesia

The national airline of Singapore, Singapore Airlines (SIA) is all set to boost frequency and network in Indonesia. The airline will now increase frequency to popular island resort of Bali and Jakarta and initiate flights to Surabaya, offering seamless connectivity and added options to vacationers and business travellers seeking tickets on the popular route.   

From 26 July 2013, Singapore Airline will add fourth daily service to Denpasar (Bali) and ninth daily flight to the capital city of Jakarta. In addition, the carrier is also going to take over one of two daily Surabaya service currently run by its regional subsidiary SilkAir. It is planning to deploy 285-seater Airbus A330s, ensuring comfortable journey to fliers booking tickets for flights operating on the route.

The airline presently offers tickets for 56 Jakarta and 21 Bali flights per week. While the airline’s subsidiary, SilkAir is operating 60 weekly services to nine Indonesian destinations and contemplating to provide tickets on flights to two new regions namely Semarang and Makassar from July and August.
