Emirates to Introduce Boeing 777 On Newcastle Route

Emirates Airline has announced plans to add more capacity from Newcastle to Dubai.

The airline will provide 2,000 more seats per week to and from Newcastle as soon as it starts operating on the route with a much larger aircraft on its daily flight to Dubai.

Considered one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, Emirates will pump up the capacity from 1st September, 2012, which is the 5th anniversary of the route launch. As per reports, approximately 700,000 passengers have travelled with airline to and from Newcastle airport since the launch.

The airline said that it is going to replace the 278-seat Airbus A330-200, which currently plies on the Dubai- Newcastle route, with the 428-seat Boeing 777-300ER. With a substantial increase in the capacity (more than 50%), the airline hopes to cater a large number of travellers. Given the rise in seat numbers, budget travellers might have a greater chance of netting relatively cheap flight tickets on the route.

In one talks about annual figures then every year in excess of 100,000 passengers will be able to travel on flights to and from Dubai or connect on to popular holiday destinations in Australia, the Far East and the Indian Ocean.

The airline also revealed its plans regarding the travel class configuration. Travellers will be offered a two-class option with 42 lie-flat beds in Business Class and 386 seats in Economy Class. This means there will be enough number of seats available whether one is looking to explore the airline’s celebrated lavishness or one is seeking the comparative cost-effective options with cheap flight tickets on economy class.

“Our Newcastle service has come of age and with demand continuing to increase, this is the right time for Emirates to be expanding its capacity from the North East,” Salem Obaidalla, Emirates' senior vice president, Commercial Operations, Europe and Russian Federation, was quoted as saying.

“With the introduction of this larger aircraft, we will offer almost 6,000 seats every week to and from Newcastle,” Obaidalla added.

Flights to Dubai, Bangkok, Sydney, Perth, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mauritius are the key operations for North East travellers, said the airline.

Emirates boasts 65 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and has an additional 86 on order.

Cargo Capacity to Get a Boost
Not only passenger capacity, the deployment of a larger aircraft on the route is also going to boost cargo carrying capacity. It is said that the move will result in an increase of some 22 percent in cargo carrying capacity.

Dave Laws, Newcastle International Airport’s Chief Executive, said: “This is a very significant announcement for Newcastle International.

“Despite challenging economic times, the daily service to Dubai has flourished. The growth of this global brand at the airport will bring employment opportunities and increased cargo carrying capabilities. This in turn will bring economic benefit, trade and investment to the region,” he was quoted.

Emirates Jacks Up Flights to Paris; Launches A380 to Rome

Dubai’s Emirates is increasing its weekly scheduled flights to Paris by adding five more services in response to strong demand. Emirates also expanded its A380 network by making Dubai-Rome route an A380 one.

Dubai’s Emirates Airline will start offering additional five weekly flights to Paris by the end of 2012. The airline has announced the move in response to the steadily growing passenger demand on the Dubai-Paris route.

Emirates, one of the Middle East’s leading airlines, will start providing an additional four flights a week to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport from March 25. This will be in addition to already operational double-daily flights to the airport. Further, the flight frequency to Pairs will be heightened to five additional weekly flights in the winter of 2012. The total number of weekly flights to Paris from Dubai is set to rise to 19 by the end of the next year.

Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & Russian Federation, Emirates, was quoted as saying: “Demand to and from France, particularly from business travelers, is such that a third frequency has always been an objective for Emirates.

“With these additional services, we will help to satisfy that demand, while providing more opportunities for travel between Paris, Dubai and beyond to our network of more than 100 destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia,” Obaidalla further added.

Additional four flights to Paris will start operating from March and will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The fifth extra flight, scheduled to be launched in October, will be operated on Tuesdays by the airline.

Additional frequencies will be operated with aircraft 777-300ER, with a configuration of eight first class private suites, 42 lie-flat seats in business class and 310 economy class seats for those with cheap flight tickets on their minds.

Flight EK 071 will take off from the Dubai airport at 0355 hrs and land in French capital at 0905 hrs. For the return journey, Flight EK072 will depart from the Paris airport at 1110 hrs and will arrive at Dubai at 1940hrs.

Emirates' Rome A380 Flight Underway

Emirates boosted its network of A380 connections by launching A380 services to Rome. It will be a daily operation.

“With the A380 forming part of the double daily service to Rome, twice daily flights to Milan and a daily offering into Venice, Italy is becoming an increasingly active market,” Salem Obaidalla was quoted in various news reports.

Flight EK 097 that takes off from the Dubai International Airport at 0910hrs and lands in Rome at 1235hrs will now be now utilize the services of the double-decker. The largest aircraft in the world will ensure that there are 250 seats extra each day on the popular Dubai-Rome route. Budget conscious travellers who look for cheap flight tickets are more likely to end up with cheap tickets when the availability is ample.

A380 on Dubai-Rome route will feature 399 seats in Economy, 76 fully-flat, mini pods in Business Class and 14 First Class Private Suites.

Emirates’ Dubai- Shanghai Route Will Get Airbus A380

Now passengers to Shanghai have a chance to experience the charm of Airbus A380, the largest passenger airliner in the world. All thanks to Emirates!

Emirates is all set to deploy Airbus A380 on its Dubai-Shanghai route starting from April 27. Shanghai is the third city in the region of Greater China that will be served by airline’s Airbus A380. The airline is going to run flights three days a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). The flight is scheduled to leave Dubai airport at 0310hrs (local time) and to reach the international airport in Shanghai at 1530hrs (local). For the return flight, the aircraft will depart from Shanghai at 2330hrs (local) and arrive in Dubai at 0430hrs (local) the subsequent day.

Passengers who travel with the massive airliner will have access to a range of in-flight services and amenities. The higher number of seats also ensures that people have access to more seats on first and business class. Additionally, passengers who seek cheap tickets on flights will have access to an increased number of economy class tickets thus making cheap tickets on the flight much readily available.

Emirates Airline & Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum was quoted in the company’s press release as stating, “Thanks to the support that we have received from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Shanghai Airport Authority, Shanghai will become the latest destination to join our global Airbus A380 network. Emirates currently has 15 A380s in service, flying from Dubai to 10 countries around the world.”
